doggie nesting

not only are my kids back and forth, but now Zach's dog is spending 2 wks.while Z and his gf enjoy a work trip to Peru.
Ninja is a great dog-- well trained and easy to care for BUT she sleeps in our bed under the covers by our feet. YUK. Zoey, our beautiful 13 yr old perfect doogie has never slept in our bed--dog hair is not to my liking--esp in a bed or on clothes. But just like loving my children for all of their quirks or faults...so i love my son's beloved pet...as long as she is well behaved and doesn't cry for Zach. She does however, bounce up every time she hears a car door close. What are 2 wks in dog life equal to in real time???
The funny thing about having our house guest is the interaction with Zoey. It is like a toddler and a grandmom. Who do you say hello to first? Do you tell Ninja not to jump around Zoey b/c it annoys her? Or how about when Ninja gets too excited and pushes Z down a few steps--someone could get hurt. Right??? The one thing we do notice---Ninja keeps Zoey playful, even if her arthritis does act up a bit....but our faithful, loving girl does not complain....just like g-mom when all the kids are around.

the future of the past

Tonight I was web surfing and stumbled on an entire circle of motherhood blogs.  Can you imagine that? but of course you can, it's the technology millennium.  as i have said--this silent world of words is very confusing, yet i can't stop exploring.  I wonder if I had this means of venting when i was at home with 3 kids and other mothers like me-- would I have felt so alone, confused or frustrated?  In the early 80's staying at home vs working was -to say the least, a hugh debate...Phil Donahue devoted hours to this dilemma.   web sites like this might have inspired me to write, craft, cook. but surly  my 'other than a mother' world would have been much more interesting.  this web circle connects everyone with the one common denominator of being a mom; from praying to planting.  Imagine the possibilities!!!! type that!!!

back to the future

the future:  blogs; chats; email and now twitter.  yes, I just got my first lesson on twitter.  I broke down and bought a laptop...a new addiction for me.  zach comes home a few nights a week and will give me a lesson.  tonight it's twitter.  I don't know where this will take me, but it does sound like fun.  Facebook, not so much.  having real trouble understanding that one.
I hope to post on this more often...so keep in touch.
